Privacy Policy
Cluegent is a desktop AI assistant for meetings, interviews, coding conversations, rolling transcription, typed prompts, and screenshot-based answers. This policy explains what data Cluegent processes, why it is processed, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect or Process
Account information
When you sign in with Google, Cluegent receives account information needed to identify your account, such as your user ID, email address, display name, profile image, and email verification status.
We use this information to authenticate you, connect your subscription and usage limits to your account, show account and plan information, and protect paid features from unauthorized use.
Billing and subscription information
Cluegent uses Razorpay for subscription checkout and billing management. We store subscription metadata such as plan, billing interval, subscription status, provider mode, customer ID, subscription ID, cancellation state, and webhook event IDs.
We do not store full payment card numbers, CVV values, or bank credentials. Payment details are handled by Razorpay.
Usage and quota information
Cluegent tracks usage needed to enforce plan limits, including AI request count, screenshot analysis count, listening seconds used, approximate token counts, estimated provider cost, and monthly usage period.
Audio, transcript, prompt, and screenshot content
Cluegent processes content only when you choose to use the related feature. Listening starts only when you press Start Listening. Screenshots are processed only when you attach or capture a screenshot. Typed prompts and quick actions are processed only when you submit them.
To provide AI responses, Cluegent may send relevant audio chunks, transcripts, prompts, screenshot images, and contextual instructions to backend services and AI/STT providers.
Local-only meeting history and customization
Recent meeting history, saved local conversation snippets, quick action customization, and AI behavior customization are stored locally on your device. You can delete local meeting records from the app.
How We Use Information
- Provide real-time transcription, AI answers, screenshot analysis, and meeting assistance.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts.
- Enforce free trial and paid subscription limits.
- Process subscription events and cancellations.
- Maintain app security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot reliability issues.
Third-Party Services
Cluegent currently uses or may use these third-party services:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud for authentication, backend functions, database, secrets, and hosting.
- Razorpay for payment processing and subscription management.
- AssemblyAI for realtime speech-to-text processing.
- DeepSeek for text-only LLM responses.
- Google Gemini for screenshot-attached responses.
- GitHub for source code availability and open-source license access.
These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies. Cluegent sends only the information needed for the feature being used.
Analytics
Cluegent currently disables Google Analytics / GA4 tracking in the desktop app. The app does not inject GA4 scripts or send GA4 analytics events.
Data Retention and Choices
Account, subscription, usage, and billing event data may be retained as long as needed to operate Cluegent, enforce limits, maintain billing records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.
You can stop listening at any time, choose when to attach screenshots, delete local meeting history in the app, sign out, cancel your subscription, and contact support to request account or data deletion.
User Responsibility and Consent
You are responsible for using Cluegent lawfully. Before recording, transcribing, screenshotting, or using AI assistance in a meeting, interview, class, workplace, or online platform, make sure you have any required permission and that your use complies with applicable laws, platform rules, employer policies, and meeting expectations.
Security
Cluegent keeps provider API keys on the backend and does not expose them in the desktop app. Backend requests use authenticated sessions where required. No system is perfectly secure, but Cluegent is designed to reduce unnecessary exposure of secrets and user data.
Open Source and Contact
Cluegent is distributed under AGPL-3.0. The license is available on GitHub.
